Alamos Gold Young-Davidson is currently recruiting the following challenging position to join our underground team :
Development Field Trainer
Alamos Gold Young-Davidson Mine, located in Matachewan, Ontario, approximately 60 km west of Kirkland Lake.

Reporting to the Development General Foreman or his designate, following a 4 / 3 or 5 / 4 rotation.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and draft operational standards working with the general foreman;
Assisting in development miner performance assessment;
Communicate with supervisors and managers to determine training needs;
Development and application of operating standards;
Train, coach and mentor development miners following company standards and in line with performance expectations;
Design / develop or select training tools such as, but not limited to, handbooks, demonstration models, PowerPoint visual aids, on-line tutorials and any researched materials relevant to training subjects;
Identify, develop & write policies & procedures, as well as review and update accordingly;
Assist in hourly personnel performance appraisals;
QA / QC in development activities (adherence to standards and work quality);
Promotion of company safety programs;
Assess safety risks and implement training plan to eliminate risk(s);
Produce time studies UG;
Participate in cost control projects; and
Any other task as directed by Department Head, or equivalent.
A minimum of 10 years UG experience in development;
A minimum of 3 years’ experience on a Maclean Bolter;
A minimum of 3 years’ experience on a Jumbo (Epiroc units would be an asset);
Production drilling (ITH) and blasting experience would be an asset
Solid knowledge of U / G mining in all facets of production, development and construction;
Strong leadership skills;
Proven ability to meet safety, production and budget targets;
Strong organization and time management skills;
Previous experience working with U / G workforce;
Train the Trainer’’, considered an asset;
Computer literacy skills in Word, Excel, and similar systems (time and attendance, etc.);
Proven ability to maintain a positive working relationship in a team-based environment;
Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines; and
Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
Wage : Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
