Fraser Health has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join Peace Arch Hospital located in White Rock, BC.

White Rock with its sandy beaches, warmest water temperatures on the coast, waterfront eateries and dramatic sunsets has become known as the Jewel of BC.

Located in the southwest corner of the province, White Rock offers a variety of leisure activities such as swimming, kayaking, windsurfing, crab fishing, sailing, and golfing.

Build on your education and experience as you :

  • Maintain documentation by ensuring reports, records and workload statistics are complete and accurate according to established departmental standards.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic / diagnostic strategies and program related issues.
  • Monitor and performs required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation and quality control of respiratory and related equipment : reports supply needs as required;
  • maintains relevant logs / reports.

  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives such as the development, implementation and evaluation of written procedures and standards, development of assessment forms and patient materials, and program descriptions as required.
  • Participate in meetings and departmental committees and contributes to problem identification and resolution.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions and follow-ups as related to respiratory therapy such as assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support initiating / maintaining mechanical ventilation support of adults, children and infants, providing airway management, patient evaluation, and daily care of patients as prescribed.

    To join the organization we require you to have :

  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam
  • Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
  • One year recent related experience in an acute care setting
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C
  • Possession of and maintained Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
