The Solution Architect will provide end to end solution architecture designs and models, and works with development and implementation teams in the full development lifecycle of the solutions.

As the Solution Architect you will ensure adherence to the architecture designs and decisions, approved by the LifeLabs IT Review Board.

This is a full time permanent role based at 30 International Boulevard, Toronto.


  • Oversee solution implementations from planning to operations and ensure the solutions are sufficiently supported for future maintenance and continual support.
  • Design high-quality architectures that align technologies with business needs and are consistent with enterprise technology standards.
  • Work with external vendors for solutions provided by them and lead in reviewing and discussing solution designs
  • Represent the Company in dealing with various software, hardware, and service vendors.
  • Provide end to end solution architecture designs, assessments, and recommendations on key architectural decisions.
  • Oversee architecture projects such as the implementation of the ERP, Billing, HRIS, Modernization of Healthcare legacy system.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to development and implementation teams to ensure the solutions are developed according to approved standards and guidelines.
  • Provide architectural roadmaps to support current and projected business needs Conduct assessments (RFI and RFP) and research on emerging technologies in support of IT initiatives and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, flexibility, and stability for the organization.
  • Establish IT Architecture Governance
  • Define and enforce the relevant architecture deliverables
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, TOGAF certificate would be an asset
  • A minimum of 10 years of IT experience with at least the last 3 years as solution architect supporting complex technical environments;
  • ideally in Healthcare environments

  • Proven solid experience in delivering end to end architecture solution designs and architectural artifacts such as solution architecture documents and architectural roadmaps preferably for solutions supporting major digital, data and / or transformational initiatives for both external and internal users
  • In-depth hands-on experience in areas such as :
  • Clud technologies (Azure, OIC, AWS, IBM, Oracle, and Others)
  • Integratin technologies (e.g. OAIC, BizTalk, Healthshare)
  • Database technlogies (Data and object modeling)
  • Infrmation security and Identity Management technologies
  • Cmplex networking and related technologies
  • Physical and Virtual server platfrms
  • Enterprise Architecture practices
  • Data analytics (Big Data, Data Lake, Machine Learning, AI, RPA)
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Messaging standards (e.g. HL7)
  • EA tol (iServer - Orbus)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, facilitation, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
