Working with the Manufacturing Engineering (MAE) group, the candidate will be responsible for the following :

Perform electro-mechanical and precision assembly work for an entire instrument / product.

Coordinates work assignments and collaborates with Design and MAE Engineers and support staff.

Perform and help develop (as needed, new) processing of parts prior to assembly.

Provide detailed assessment on Design for Assembly (DFA) impacting assembly time, defect avoidance, and costs.

Participate in pFMEA activities.

Generate root cause and analysis reports pertaining to assembly issues (DFA).

Generate non-compliance reports.

Generate assembly procedures.

Recommend design and verify tools, fixtures, and jigs.

Conduct complex tolerance stack-up analysis

Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Applied Science Technologist (AST) in Mechanical Engineering discipline is an asset.

Minimum 10 years experience in complex electro-mechanical and precision manufacturing assembly

Perform Problem Solving / Root Cause analysis reports

Interpret Assembly drawings, procedures, and CAD drawings

FMEA knowledge.

Generate non-compliance reports

Experience working on new product introduction projects.

Generating Engineering Change Requests / Orders

Proficient with CAD software (e.g.Autocad / Solidworks / Catia)

Additional Requirements :

Working knowledge in MS Office applications

Working in Product Data Management systems like Enovia an asset.

Working in Enterprise Resource Planning systems like Oracle an asset.

Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.

Coordinate and assign tasks to support staff.
