Development and Leadership of all Employee Relations activities for Cannon Automotive Solutions, Windsor


Under the general direction of the Corporate Director, Human Resources


  • Assist in the Development and Implementation of the Organizational Development Strategy including ongoing tracking and monitoring of Key Business / Employee objectives
  • Lead the Performance Management system including Succession Planning, Training and Development for the Corporation
  • Location administration of the Pension and Benefit programs as well as liaison with external consultants
  • Coach and Train location Leadership Team in all matters of Employee Relations including counselling of matters related to Employment and Common Law
  • Conduct internal investigations related to matters of Harassment and improper employee conduct
  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding activities for the location
  • Engage in and foster professional development of all staff and provide opportunities for learning within budgeted resources..
  • Represent the Human Resources department in meetings as required.
  • Ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors; investigate report, debrief and take or direct corrective action as appropriate on incidents.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from an accredited university.
  • CHRP / CHRL certification
  • Management / Leadership Training or Certification

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience within the Human Resources profession
  • Experience in Organizational Development planning and Implementation
  • Extensive experience in Recruitment, Training and Development and Succession Planning

  • Strong Knowledge of current Employment Law both Statutory and Common
  • Advanced Knowledge of Training and Development systems
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, advice and teach others using the principles of adult learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and principles of management, conflict management and resolution, system needs analysis and organizational assessment.
  • Ability to use tact and discretion in dealing with customers, suppliers and employees.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software, e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record.
  • Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the job.
  • Ability to address issues outside regular business hours as they arise.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
