Job Description

4FMV is currently looking for a permanent Business Analyst for a large investment firm located in the Toronto downtown core.

The Business Analyst’s role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to convey to implementation / development teams throughout the application lifecycle.

The Business Analyst will create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.

This Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the implementation / development process, and to ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews and product analysis to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
  • Analyze business requirements against existing processes, systems, and data stores for gap analysis and recommended improvements
  • Translate business requirements and information gathering discussions into professional business presentations and other types of business documentation for consumption by Business customers and solution partners
  • Establish practices, procedures and templates that work towards the continuous improvement of the requirements process
  • Assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary
  • Review and implement change control processes during project lifecycles
  • Data analysis, data clean up and data migration activities as required
  • Updates to corporate intranet and website
  • Support and align with the Information technology strategy
  • Knowledge & Experience

  • 3+ years of related experience
  • University degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or related field
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modelling, verification, and methodology development
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of CRM, DMS and transaction type applications is an asset
  • Proven working experience in in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background with understanding and / or hands-on experience testing processes, issue tracking etc.
  • Experience with data analysis is considered a plus
