Participate in Integrated Work Control including the develop hazard assessments and control plans.
Support contractor safety program by a) acting as the SME in the Work Risk Review process for OSH safety issues and all Pre-Qualification activities.
Provide timely / customer service oriented, credible and expert response to field requests. Ensure systematic oversight, support, and advice.
Support line managers and employees to implement CNL programs and procedures. Conduct inspections (equipment, structure, material or process) and inform management on areas identified which may cause problems / errors / defects or are not in compliance with laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.
Participate in various OSH audit processes as an SME.
Follow up and investigate accidents / incidents with operations to identify causes and to recommend corrective action plans.
Work may require use of Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), or other. Investigate regional trends, prepare reports and draft communications (ACA, RCA).
Prepare detailed reports that include incident reports, self-assessments, audits, observations, determined safety concerns, corrective actions and plans to resolve concerns.
Conduct periodic OSH training sessions for management, supervisors, and workers related to health and safety practices, regulatory adherence and OSH program requirements.
Provide SME input into OSH program requirement documents and standard training material.
50-60% of time dedicated to long periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heghts; exposure to various environments such as inclement weather (e.
g. rain, snow, wind), hot and cold temperatures.
50-60% of time dedicated to wearing PPE&C, including but not limited to : hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, face shield, gloves, fall protection, hearing protection, half or full mask respirators, reflective vest / clothing, long sleeve and pant attire, coveralls, safety rated footwear at least 6 high.
Occupational Health and Safety Certificate / Diploma / Degree along with CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation is desired.
If no designation, then must be capable and willing to obtain within a reasonable period of time. Will be required to take CNL Radiation Protection Group 3 training.
A minimum of four years of safety related and relevant experience in the field. Preference will be given to candidates with industrial, construction and contractor management / oversite background.
Ability to :

Be Physically fit, physically active (standing, walking) for up to 7.5 hrs a day. Able to manage stairs, ladders and other egress equipment to enter all site and building areas including, confined space.
