Day in the Life :
The Director Supply Chain Management leads all Store supply chain teams including : SC Strategy & Projects, SC Business Intelligence & Analytics, and SC Operations.
Spearheading the shared supply chain services, the incumbent delivers the end-to-end strategic design, implementation, and operations support of Hudson’s Bay store supply chain enabling a cost-effective and performance-driven network.
The Director provides hands-on leadership, vision and direction in all Supply Chain related matters to various cross-functional areas and actively participates in executive-level meetings across HB acting as a subject matter expert.
The Director, leads the development of business cases for capital projects and new initiatives, liaises with all areas of the business to move forward long-term strategic projects, as well as promoting a culture that attracts, retains, and develops cross-functional team members that will become key resources needed to implement HB’s future state supply chain.

What You Will Do : Strategy & Network
Strategy & Network
Implement the Strategy for HB’s Supply Chain Network and constantly adapts the strategic roadmap to meet the ever changing demands and requirements of the customers and the business
Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working with the business units and other shared service teams to resolve them
Provide project management guidance, resources and shared service for all cross-functional initiatives of strategic importance
Responsible for developing business cases for capital projects, drive effective decision making and managing of cross functional initiatives as the functional lead for the SC&L store team
Develop Network Model and Simulation for HB’s Stores Supply Chain Network, outline future state to drive improvements
Drive and execute implementation of profit-improvement ideas, cost-reduction initiatives and operational efficiency solutions
Spearhead the short and long term strategic initiatives, including supply chain network transformations
Supply Chain Analytics
Provide end to end visibility to all supply chain partners and for executive reporting regarding the status of the supply chain network
Be the central intelligence hub : merge existing analytics resources and functions under one umbrella to serve the shared service more efficiently
Develop, oversee, and produce a variety of complex Supply Chain reports, analyses, insights, alerts, self-serve tools and recommendations both on a regular and ad-hoc basis to different levels of the organization
Establish relevant KPI with senior stakeholders to track Supply Chain performance
Merchandise Flow Optimization
Partner with merchandise planning leads to harmonize flow and load in HBC’s supply chain to minimize delays and friction caused during peak due to information gaps and lack of synchronization across internal and external stakeholders
Monitor and constantly improve item setup and PO creation to smooth operational flow of merchandise during peak and off-peak
Leverage in-house reporting to proactively develop solutions that lower distribution costs per item, improve time to market and enhances internal / external customers experience
Inventory Management and Optimization
Ongoingly work with MP&A leads to reduce aged and unproductive inventory, increase cash flow and propose new exit channels with increased recovery rates
Support Markdown Optimization for year-round and seasonal product in partnership with HB Planning
Foster an active culture of unproductive inventory avoidance and enforce dedicated action plans across all channels with a stronger focus in our DC network
Responsible for the successful and efficient inbound flow of over 75K appointments and 10M cartons of merchandise to the Canadian distribution centers
Oversee the development of the SC&L forecasting and planning model, processes and visibility tools to deliver on-time and advanced information to transportation and DC operations teams during peak and off-peak
Provide on-site support at DCs for different projects as required
Proactively manage event merchandise flow (e.g. Bay Days, ODS, Home Book, etc) and ensure optimal product availability across the network by leveraging stakeholder relationships across all shared service and business units
Lead and develop a cross-functional team that supports the day-to-day operations of all stakeholders across the store supply chain : Vendors, MP&A, Distribution Centers, Logistics, and Call Centers
Transformation & Reverse Logistics
Support Hudson’s Bay Reverse Logistics : Store Transfers, RTV and Damages operations at the DC (including liquidation / disposition) while also executing the strategy to manage digital returns
Organize all projects related to openings / closures and network redesign across HBC
What You Will Need :
MBA , university degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration / Commerce or Industrial Engineering
Demonstrated senior leadership and decision making in fast paced, consumer driven environments
Minimum 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, strategy, operations leadership or solutions design, preferably in a high volume, retail or direct-to-consumer industry
Demonstrated progressive senior leadership of cross functional teams, team development and decision making in fast paced, consumer driven environments
Results driven personality with a successful track record planning, executing and achieving strategic growth objectives and plans
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret extensive data to develop and implement appropriate solutions
Active in partnering with senior business partners and presenting recommendations in a persuasive, professional and impactful way to drive supply chain development
Strong project management skills, including development of timelines, communication of project status, and ability to move projects from concept strategy development through tactical implementation and execution
Pronounced business acumen and problem-solving skills, analytical and creative thinker, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
