Job Description
As the Director of Technical Store Design, you will lead, through a team of external Architects and in-house Design Managers, the technical construction drawings and store development process for all Direct to Consumer (DTC) projects globally, merchant and vendor shop in shop projects / concepts.
The Role :
Lead the Technical Store Design team, fostering a culture of coaching, learning, and continuous development with all people leaders and colleagues throughout the department
Lead from handover of the conceptual design package from Canada Goose’s Creative Store Design department to create and bring to life the Canada Goose in-store brand experience
Set Architectural Façade and Branding Concept guidelines for all new stores and remodels, expansions, and entrance upgrades
Gather all project brief descriptions from regional partners to ensure commercial parameters and store requirements meet the approved design guidelines
Management of lighting design and engineers for all lighting standards & fixtures in stores
Work with construction dept and procurement to deliver best value and design
Lead and provide insight on all sustainability initiatives
Dictate and control vendor shop in shop packages to maintain Canada Goose’s design standards and parameters are met
Lead, direct, and mentor internal technical team
Coordinate closely with the Store Development team, Visual, Real Estate, Marketing, Lease and Regional retail teams on all applicable projects and requirements
Manage scope and vendor selection development for all projects in conjunction with the VP Store Development & Design
Evaluate and direct external consultants who provide building architectural exterior design and interior design services to Canada Goose
About You :
3-5 years work experience in interior or architectural design; 3-5 years retail design preferred
Bachelor's degree in Architecture
Proficient in AutoCAD, 3D modeling and rendering, Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), hand sketch
LEED accredited is a bonus!
Excellent understanding of proportion and ability to translate ideas, forms, and functions into cohesive technical drawings in collaboration with team members
Excellent ability to create, understand and translate three-dimensional space concepts into construction drawings
Must be flexible to work with Business Partners in different time zones
