Canada’s largest bank with local, national and international operations is recruiting for full time positions or casual / contract positions.

Summary

Employees in this role spend their time proactively interacting with clients in all areas of the branch, offering help booking an appointment or referring to a colleague.

They assist clients with their financial and transactional needs (short and long term) including : everyday banking (Small Business and Personal), managing debt (credit lines, mortgages loans), savings investments registered and non- registered) and risk.

They contribute to the branch’s client experience and sales results by providing personalized advice and solutions, referring to partners, and deepening client relationships through cross-selling.

The flexibility of the Banking Advisor enables the bank to offer more sophisticated discovery and advice at first point of contact with our clients.

Responsibilities :

  • Proactively engage with clients in all areas the branch uncovering banking needs, providing advice and identifying sales and referral opportunities.
  • Advise clients on tailored financial solutions such as personal / business accounts, credit cards, loans / line of credit, overdraft, mortgages and investments that meet client needs.
  • Respond to client-initiated contacts, assisting with financial transactions (deposits, withdrawals, cheque cashing / ordering, bill payments, money orders and transfers, and foreign currency exchanges) while prospecting for additional opportunities, referral and appointment bookings.
  • Maintain and grow the client’s portfolio by identifying and promoting personal banking advice and solutions with a continuous focus on client service and new business development.
  • Take ownership of client problems, respond with empathy and provide sound solutions.
  • Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in Retail / Sales an asset
  • Previous customer service experience in any industry such as hospitality, retail health or community service
  • Leadership skills demonstrated through school, sports and community or work experience
  • Demonstrated strength in relationship-building with aptitude for communicating with others
  • Knowledge / Accreditation

  • Must have Mutual Funds course i.e. Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada
  • Knowledge or fluency in a second language is an asset

  • Education

  • Post-secondary diploma / degree, ideally in Commerce, Business Administration or related experience
