DMC is currently looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Corporate HR team in Vaughan, Ontario.
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HRBP will provide consultation and service to an assigned client group in support of HR Management in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, workforce / succession planning, training and development, compensation and policy compliance.
Responsibilities : Includes but is not limited to :
Acts as first point of contact responding to inquiries and handling concerns in a timely manner.
Provides guidance, direction and advice on employment related issues across all HR disciplines including the interpretation and application of legislation, corporate policies and HR programs and processes, ensuring compliance and consistent application.
Manages the full-cycle recruitment process including sourcing, pre-screening, interviewing, verifying references, administering testing, preparing offers and conducting onboarding.
Works with assigned client group to identify and plan for HR requirements to meet short- and long-term business requirements.
Investigates, manages and mitigates potential risk with disciplinary employee related issues.
Partners with client group to understand and address business issues, while leveraging opportunities to develop strategic HR initiatives.
Fosters employee engagement and addresses and / or escalates issues according for resolution.
Manages and prepares necessary documentation (promotions, transfers, relocations, leaves, terminations, etc.) advising payroll and updating HRIS system accordingly.
Generates, analyzes and reports on various statistics.
Strives to develop and execute process improvements across the HR function.
Maintains all legally required personnel records, files and related information required by the company.
Researches, analyzes, plans and executes a variety of HR projects (employee engagement, training, succession planning, development, culture initiatives, operational process improvements, change management, etc.) Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
Minimum 5 years of generalist experience.
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Leader (CHRL) designation or in progress.
Knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles, as well as all applicable legislation, including but not limited to, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
Solid technical human resources experience in a variety of functional areas (employee relations, talent acquisition, policies and procedures development, compliance, talent development, succession planning, compensation, employee engagement, etc.).
Solid business acumen to align both business objectives and HR strategies with corporate goals.
Excellent organizational, follow-through and workload planning skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while adhering to either hard or soft deadlines.
Effective, clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
Strong team player, customer service orientated with effective problem-solving abilities.
Intermediate computer skills including experience with HRIS systems.
Ability to effectively gather and analyze data / information, create presentations and present material.
Experience working within the Mining, Heavy Construction or Engineering sectors is an asset.
