Global Operations and Business Services is the core of TD Securities that provides risk management and control functions for sales and trading, Investment, corporate and retail banking.

The Foreign Exchange (FX) Operations team is part of Capital Market Operations and partners with the front office and other areas within TD Securities globally to mitigate risk, penalty and loss for TD and our clients.

FX Operations is a Global team that performs operational risk identification and assessment and works to protect the accuracy and efficiency at every step of the FX Trade lifecycle.

The team is heavily involved in strategic initiatives, business development, and process improvements to drive efficiency, improve client service levels and reduce risk.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational risk and control functions for the FX business including trade confirmations, allocations, settlements and investigations.

The incumbent will collaborate daily with cross functional teams, Global partners and clients in Toronto, New York, Singapore and London to mitigate risk and provide a seamless client service experience.

The Analyst will actively participate with Front office partners to discuss business trends and build both client relationships and product development to provide trusted advice and legendary experiences to our clients.

This position is also responsible to explore and deliver process improvements to drive efficiency and streamline the FX trade lifecycle.

Key accountabilities of the position are :

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the FX trade lifecycle such as Trade allocations, confirmations, settlements and / or investigations are performed accurately and exceptions are escalated to avoid loss to TD or our clients.
  • Organize and control the activities of the Operation Officers
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end FX trade lifecycle by interacting with multiple Trading Desks and Global partners in order to work toward the shared goal of risk mitigation and deliver on stakeholder and client expectations Track and monitor operating risk issues for the business and assist in the development of key risk and control indicators related to confirmations, settlements and cash break monitoring
  • Resolve daily operational issues determining appropriate resolution ensuring the Bank / clients are not exposed to any significant penalty / loss by exercising tact and diplomacy and maintaining good customer relations.
  • Report operational risk issues and decisions to senior management and investigate root causes of operational risks and provide support to mitigate risk
  • Maintain documentation for risk management and risk policies and procedures. Keep abreast of latest operational risk management techniques and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation by actively seeking ways to drive efficiency, improve customer service levels and mitigate risk
  • Evolve operating model by increasing collaboration, communication, empowerment and accountability
  • Develop strong relationship with key stakeholders and business partners by addressing issues / concerns in timely manner
  • Work closely with business partners to execute a number of critical projects and initiatives and actively participate in developing, testing and implementing new or enhanced processes and other process improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with global operational teams to ensure consistent processes and procedures and a unified Global FX Model.
  • Daily collaboration with cross functional teams and partners globally to identify key business opportunities and play a vital role in driving change and execute on our key initiatives
  • Client Focused and effectively handle difficult requests, build trusting, long-term relationships with clients and partners, manage expectations as well as being able to view problems through the eyes of the client
