Analysts play an essential role in developing, communicating and executing the company vision by understanding the business operations and developing tools, metrics and processes to provide data and information that drives discussion and action.

You will ensure the information is not only accurate, relevant and actionable but also understandable to a wide audience of stakeholders.

You will be comfortable regularly interacting with all levels of staff and providing them with insightful, forward looking reporting and analysis.

Lush is a true vertically integrated retailer including manufacturing, retail, distribution, digital and corporate streams.

While all streams are linked, the focus of this role is the Vancouver manufacturing stream and you will play a key role in all budgeting and reforecasting workflows.

Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Senior Financial analyst leads the financial analysis and forecasting for the Vancouver factory.

You will provide financial support and direction to the manufacturing management team.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide support to the manufacturing team, have responsibility for the quality, relevance and timeliness of financial information and analysis
  • Be a storyteller, turning data into easily understood trends and impacts that can be actioned by the business
  • Maintain and develop financial reports used by the Factory and Room Management
  • Prepare a finance educational program which improves the financial knowledge of factory support teams and rooms management
  • Partner with teams to accurately interpret financial information in terms of what it means for the business
  • Continually improve support to business through assessing needs and providing forward looking insight
  • Oversee and complete financial planning for manufacturing facility including targets, forecasts, and budgets
  • Maintain rolling forecast relating to the manufacturing facility
  • Drive the Capital Approval / Reporting / Forecasting / Project ROI’s / Post Project Completion Process in Manufacturing
  • Lead monthly variance analysis of financial results against target, budget, forecast, and previous years
  • Provide in-depth labour analytics of actual vs standard routings weekly / monthly and budget and forecast labour
  • Provide analytics of operating expenses including maintenance / facilities,etc monthly / budget / fcst
  • Report manufacturing weekly KPI’s, consolidate the weekly report, and run the weekly tracker meeting
  • Calculate and prepare the monthly factory bonus
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and usability of deliverables.
  • Provide peer support and development opportunities to team members
  • Design and develop new and ad hoc reports as required
  • Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of specific, progressive FP&A experience in a manufacturing & standard costing environment
  • A proven collaborative, proactive and inclusive approach to business support
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to focus, prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, high-energy environment to deliver a high-quality output
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excitement and a commitment to learn, understand and relate to Lush’s core brand values
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Statistics, Business Data Analytics, Engineering or a related field
  • Strong analytical, modelling and presentation skills, in depth knowledge of financial statements and the drivers that impact them.
  • Can distill and summarize large and complex data sets in a simple and concise way and present it clearly without losing sight of the big picture
  • Exceptional communication skills both written, and oral are essential to succeed in this role
  • Strong team player that can drive discussion but is always open to hearing a different view
  • Flexibility, dedication and ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel, including pivot tables and complex logic-based formulas
  • Preferred :

  • Experience in high volume, vertically integrated manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and / or Prophix
  • MBA, CFA or CPA
  • Accounting designation
