Job Description & Summary

A career in our Commercial Assurance practice, within Risk Assurance Compliance and Analytics services, will provide you with the opportunity to assist clients in developing analytics and technology solutions that help them detect, monitor, and predict risk.

Our team helps business leaders to identify savings opportunities, integrate process enhancements, provide knowledge transfer, and support ongoing assurance needed to sustain value across the contract lifecycle.

We focus on managing contractual risk related to new commercial contracts, cost reduction initiatives, ongoing contract portfolio assessment, mergers & acquisitions, and contract exits.

PwC's Commercial Assurance team help our clients to maximise the value obtained from third party relationships through an integrated, risk-based approach to contract lifecycle management.

Organizations rely increasingly on complex relationships with third parties. Getting value for money from these relationships and the associated contracts, while ensuring effective performance and managing risk, is an ongoing challenge for most businesses, particularly in today's economic environment.

Services and contractual relationships are often complicated, difficult to understand and lack transparency. Businesses that don't manage their strategic third-party relationships effectively and fail to maximize revenues or control costs, open themselves up to a multitude of risks.

The Commercial Assurance RAS team has grown tremendously over the last couple of years and we plan for this to continue! As an Experienced Senior Associate, you will be a critical part of our rapid growth, helping us support our existing clients as well as establishing new business relationships and finding new opportunities.

In this role you will :

  • Be responsible for the execution of work that contributes to successful client engagements, focussed on risk-based contract management.
  • Example of projects include :

  • Contract management optimization engagements
  • Contract cost reduction & recovery audits;
  • Contract risk assessments;
  • Contract portfolio risk assessments;
  • Contract renegotiation and exit strategies;
  • Contract management in mergers & acquisitions;
  • Capital Project Assurance; and
  • Implementing commercial contract assurance functions.
  • Take an active role in expanding and developing our Commercial Assurance practice including coaching and development of team members
  • Build relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Bring innovations to the team
  • As a risk professional, there is significant opportunity to gain exposure to multiple areas of our Risk Assurance business, as well as working collaboratively with our other lines of service.
  • Requirements :

  • An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work.
  • Solid experience relevant to services provided in commercial assurance, e.g. procurement, contract management, projects, operations, engineering, supply chain, logistics, finance / accounting, A / P, etc.
  • Experience in Delivery or assessment of Capital Projects and Programs
  • Experience in coaching, training and supervising work of junior staff member is - strong asset
  • Experience working independently and taking initiatives - essential
  • Experience multitasking and interacting with various stakeholders - strong assets
  • Experience with data analytics : excel advanced user, managing large volumes of data, data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) - strong asset
  • Certifications / designation (e.g. PMP, CPA, B.Eng., CFE, CFA, CSCP, CPSM, etc.) - an asset
