Working under minimal direction, this role contributed to Wawanesa’s success by advancing our DevOps capabilities across our IS delivery teams with a strong focus on continuous quality and proactive performance / stability monitoring of our critical business applications and infrastructure.
The purpose of the DevOps C4E is to foster, empower and accelerate teams by providing them access to the right tools and technologies to continually improve both the speed and quality of delivered business value.
The ideal candidate will be a servant leader with a passion for industry leading DevOps practices that includes quality as a first class citizen in the development process and strongly resonates with the mentality of end-to-end ownership (i.
e. you build it you run it). They will find success through the success of other teams within the organization.
You will have experience / exposure to Agile / DevOps, AWS, automation, TDD / BDD and legacy Quality Assurance practices.
Experience with monitoring platforms not limited to AppDynamics / Splunk would be a significant asset.
Job Responsibilities :
Manage, facilitate and communicate development delivery plans and progress with all required stakeholders.
Manage DevOps team activities to ensure successful and timely completion of deliverables.
Manage, maintain and help transform the continuous delivery process within the organization.
Plan and manage the vitality of various tools that the team supports.
Ensure continuous improvement in operational processes.
Oversee and coach a team to ensure work environment is respectful, challenging, rewarding, and employees are maximized to their full potential while contributing to the achievement of the company’s goals.
Provide technical expertise and advise on techniques to overcome challenging situations.
Contribute to the onboarding of new employees and / or co-ops and ensure they are setup for success.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Three years experience performing senior IS role.
Completion of post-secondary degree / certificate or equivalent experience.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to develop and implement plans by prioritizing work to accomplish organizational goals while maintaining day-to-day support levels.
Servant leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate high team morale by encouraging / coaching team members and helping to remove impediments to their productivity.
Sound decision making skills, with the ability to direct team members to achieve goals through clear instruction.
Experience with leading / implementing and / or facilitating change across teams
Experience with DevOps / Quality best practices and industry standard tools
Experience with Selenium, JMeter, TestCafe, KarateAPI or other test automation tools is considered an asset.
Experience with continuous monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch is considered an asset
