Points is looking for a Director, Corporate Development to join our team for a permanent position in our downtown Toronto office.

Reporting to and partnering closely with the President, the primary responsibilities of this position are to help manage and coordinate activities related to Strategic Partnerships and M&A, such as target identification, assessment / feasibility analysis against corporate goals / mission and to perform due diligence.
This would be done in close collaboration with Line of Business (LOB) Leaders. Additionally, coordinate all efforts related to the preparation of analysis and recommended actions to Senior Leadership.
The successful candidate will be excited by the opportunity to help build and execute the strategic road-map, elevating the Corp Development function.
Key Responsibilities :
Play a critical role in developing and executing key M&A transactions and business strategy projects, supporting the team in driving growth for Points.
Manage the preparation of confidential information memorandums, potential target lists, initiating discussions with sellers, facilitating due diligence, negotiating with sellers, and working with legal counsel and other service providers to prepare definitive documentation.
Assist in planning integration efforts where appropriate
Assist in conducting industry research and analysis to identify and / or analyze business trends and opportunities and potential strategic relationships.
Pitchbook (M&A pipeline of potential targets) and presentation development;
Develop persuasive arguments based on the data and facts.
Start-to-finish support in the acquisition process, including input on strategy, early identification of risk areas, coordination and execution of due diligence investigations supporting the corporate due diligence function (financial and operational), input and advice on contract terms geared to reduce risks and integration planning.
Handle complex issues, interpret results, find solutions, report key findings, and make recommendations
Manage and coordinate valuation techniques and practices, including discounted cash flow analysis, precedent transactions, and comparative analysis.
Write detailed professional reports and presentations of key analysis with pertinent findings. Identify issues and work closely with and coordinate across various lines of business and / or strategic business units to resolve key issues.
Understand, interpret and apply Points current Long Term Strategy Plan, specifically as it relates to data, loyalty strategy and partnership dynamics
Post-secondary education in Business, Finance or other relevant experience combined with 7+ years of experience
CPA, CFA or other finance designation considered an asset
4 years of work experience in management consulting, venture capital, private equity, corporate development or investment banking
Experience managing complex transactions and transaction teams from pre-deal to post-deal integration.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, background in M&A and / or corporate strategy formulation.
Portfolio / Program / Project Management
Demonstrated history of business performance (either P / L or economic development)
Demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques, forecasting and forecasting methods, with an understanding of their strategic, financial and operational implications.
Excellent team / relationship building, communication, and strong organization skills
Exceptional critical thinking, organization, research and problem-solving abilities
Ability to build effective relationships with people at varying levels of the organization.
Strong communicator, comfortable working in a team environment.
