Role Description

The Senior Learning Consultant is responsible for the strategic and day to day managementof the learning curriculum and overall development of the people leadership career stream.

The Senior Learning Consultant will assess, consult, plan, implement and measure projects aligned to learning, performance and strategic needs of the organization.

Accountabilities :

  • Assess, plan, implement, measure and monitor learning curriculum for people leader stream.
  • Consult with HR and / or business partners to identify and assess performance gaps and provide learning and non-learning recommendations or interventions.
  • Lead strategic learning and performance initiatives, including defining appropriate success measures, developing plans to achieve and managing all elements of the learning and / or performance stream.
  • Influence and drive organizational performance management strategy, including goals management, coaching and mentoring, performance assessments and compensation decisions.
  • Review and shape learning deliverables in collaboration with the subject matter experts, Instructional Designer and / or project resources.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of learning and performance trends, developments and best practices.
  • Drive and deliver operational excellence through sustainable program recommendations, formalized maintenance strategies and budget oversight and tracking.
  • Lead Train the Trainer exercises or socialization activities with key stakeholders.
  • Assist in design of learning deliverables (when required).
  • Create visuals and / or narratives with strong visual story, especially when presenting learning strategies or concepts to senior stakeholders or audiences.
  • Qualifications and Competencies :

  • Ideal experience for role is 7+ years as an HR professional, concentrated around learning, performance and learning project / program management.
  • Ideal education includes a post-secondary Degree / Diploma in HR Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • A specialized learning and / or performance certification is an asset.

  • The incumbent must be perceived as a trusted and credible advisor to senior leaders and HR colleagues.
  • Skilled Negotiator capable of arriving at mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Strong technology and graphic skills in a Microsoft environment including PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively coordinate multiple deadlines.
  • Advanced ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and effectively challenge status quo.
  • Experience overseeing and / or participating on complex or enterprise project teams, creating project plans, allocating resources, and managing timelines and expectations.
  • Minimum 2+ years as people leader is an asset.
  • Skilled negotiator capable of arriving at mutually beneficial solutions, advanced , problem solving skills and the ability to foster effective working relationships within the Talent team and across the greater HR Team.
