Summary :

Under the general direction of the 407 Winter Superintendent, the foreperson is responsible for managing all aspects of the Derry Yard camp including planning, production and monitoring performance.

Job safety training and awareness is an important part of your responsibility.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure that daily operations are carried out in accordance to company objectives
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and with the Miller / MSO Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, in daily operations, as well as ensuring that Health and Safety Training is carried out in accordance to requirements
  • Mississauga, Ontario

  • Oversee the effective utilization of manpower, equipment, inventory, and project development
  • Perform Quality Control duties in order to ensure workmanship and specifications are met or exceeded
  • Maintain production schedules and budgeted operating costs
  • Coordinate driver schedules managing every driver’s hours for maintenance
  • 24-hour supervision of employees
  • Represent MSO / Miller during on-site visits with the customer, authorities and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and operating in a safe, efficient manner while minimizing operating costs
  • Requirements :

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience winter maintenance
  • Previous experience as a Foreperson or Sub Foreperson would be an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team oriented
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities on a daily basis and multi tasked orientated
  • Strong technical knowledge of Winter Maintenance
  • Execution of Safe Work Practices
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Planning and scheduling skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Outlook, MS word, Excel skills
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift of 2 days on and 2 days off and a 3 day shift every other weekend
  • Willingness to be at the camp for ALL of the hours of your shift
  • Willingness to work on days off if needed during a winter event
  • Valid DZ driver’s license and a clean abstract or willingness to get your DZ license
  • WHMIS & First Aid Level 1
