POSITION SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Director, Sales & Service, the Manager, Sales & Service is accountable for the management of an outbound sales team within Alberta and their disciplined execution of sales processes used in the implementation of a targeted customer plan.
This Manager will be responsible to achieve the annual set goal for sales growth, Gross Margin and EBITDA in the target area.
In full collaboration with the Retail Area Managers, Farm & Ranch Structures and Product Strategy Teams, the Manager of Sales and Service will manage a diverse team of Customer Account Managers (CAMs) to achieve the expected business growth in their set sales region.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Manage the processes for the implementation of a customer-based business plan in the sales region. This includes developing and implementing an annual customer plan, sales forecasting and tracking, price stewardship and customer service and tactics for the crops and livestock business segments.
Align and support the implementation of strategies and tactics from the Product Strategy Team and the Retail Operations Team with the sales team.
Develop and utilize strong relationships with key stakeholders that impact the business and the effectiveness of the sales team.
Accountable to lead the implementation of the customer plan and to provide a seamless customer service experience to the targeted farm / ranch customers.
Accountable to achieve the set business objectives in the sales region, including Sales Growth Target for the Area and Gross Margin Target for the Area.
Lead the implementation of the Customer Plan for the area. In collaboration with the Retail Operations Team (Area Managers and Store Managers) the Manager of Sales and Service will be responsible for achieving sales and EBITDA Targets.
Responsible for all aspects of people development with a remote sales team that spans across a specific region in Alberta.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Post-secondary in agriculture, business or commerce preferred or a combination of education and experience, with a strong knowledge of agriculture is critical.
More than 10 years demonstrably proven experience selling products, services and solutions to agricultural producers in Western Canada.
Previous sales management experience is required.
Experience within a results-oriented Business to Business (B2B) environment.
Demonstrated aptitude and capability for growing revenues and market share in the agricultural industry.
Proven sales management and relationship building skills.
Strong leadership and influencing skills.
Strong people management and communications skills.
Technical knowledge of crop and / or livestock production.
