Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Coordinator or designate and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans and provides personal care, and performs nursing procedures.
Performs a variety of orthopaedic technician functions such as applying and removing casts and splints and setting up, monitoring, and adjusting traction equipment as directed by the physician.
The Orthopaedic LPN operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia, and according to agency operating policies and standards and unit specific protocols.
Education, Training And Experience
Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent. Current full practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC).
Completion of recognised training in Orthopaedic Technology plus two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
