This position reports to the Chief Commercial officer and is based in the Calgary office
The key objectives of the role include :
Developing complex financial and strategic analysis to support Executive level decisions on major strategic and tactical initiatives;
Working closely with business unit partners to execute rigorous analysis and summarize insights in a way that facilitates Executive level decisions;
Playing a leading role to conduct and complete due diligence efforts to validate the assumptions, economic / financial returns and risk associated with projects of interest to Valard.
Provide project management for transmission & distribution estimates to ensure pricing and deliverables are being submitted on time.
Also, provide additional oversight on the detailed preparation of cost estimates for international projects.
Providing ad hoc commercial and business support
Degree in engineering, business, or finance is required;
MBA, CFA, or CPA is preferred;
4+ years of relevant work experience in the electrical industry is required;
Relevant work experience in operations, project management, or field experience is required;
Relevant work experience in corporate development, strategic planning management consulting, or investment banking is preferred;
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and forecasting skills including financial statement analysis;
Proven organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects under tight deadlines;
Proven ability to understand the details associated with the execution of transmission & distribution construction project;
Proven ability to conduct detailed financial and strategic analysis, drawing out implications and recommendations;
Proven track record of synthesizing qualitative and quantitative analyses into clear, concise, and insightful reports and presentation materials;
