Reporting to the Staff Housing Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Daily inspection of buildings, including, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming hallways and stairs
  • Report necessary maintenance and work orders to staff housing office
  • Checking assigned floors, including storage areas for required cleaning throughout the day (ex. burnt out light bulbs, marks on walls)
  • Empty recycling centres located on the staff housing grounds
  • Welcome new colleagues and escort to room explaining about living environment and surroundings
  • Fill colleague’s requests in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundry rooms, emptying and restocking machines
  • Identify and report lost and found items
  • Maintain cleanliness of empty rooms, ensuring that they are prepared for new arrivals
  • Maintain and upkeep of the grounds around staff housing : (summer) lawn mowing and weed cutting (winter) snow removal and ice melt
  • Filling and covering the Staff Housing Office when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications :
  • High School diploma
  • High School diploma
  • Must be in excellent physical condition and be able to lift heavy objects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible and able to handle a variety of tasks
  • Be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English
  • Work well in a team environment with minimum supervision
  • High level of integrity
  • Prior work experience working with cash
  • Webworks is an asset
  • Excellent computer skills such as Excel. Word
  • Previous office experience
  • Previous janitorial experience an asset

    Physical Aspects of Position (but not limited to) :

  • Lifting - Under 20lbs 75% of time
  • Carrying - Over 20lbs 50% of time
  • Pulling - Over 20lbs 75% of time
  • Describe Motions - Bending, standing, reaching, kneeling, pushing, carrying, and lifting
  • Work Environment Indoor , Outdoor
  • Visa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
