At the highest level, Home Depot Associates must (a) provide outstanding customer service to our Customers and (b) drive the sales and profitability of the store.
Customer service objectives include delighting our Customers each and every day and fostering long-term loyalty bonds between our Associates and our Customers.
There are six key priorities that deliver the Home Depot shopping experience : 1. Having good quality products available (in-stock, broad selection) 2.
Making it easy and safe for our Customers to shop our stores (uncluttered, navigable store) 3. Giving our Customers good value (everyday low prices) 4.
Providing our Customers the help they need (available aprons dedicated to service) 5. Offering extra services (installation, delivery, special orders, etc.
6. Making the shopping experience exciting and fun Order Picker Associates are responsible for obtaining pick lists, the detailed list of product necessary to fill each order, and prioritizing them in the order in which each needs to be filled.
This will involve gathering merchandise throughout the store to fill orders in a timely manner, carefully packing orders to ensure that products do not get damaged, and accurately labelling and placing orders into specified holding areas until they are moved out of the store and loaded onto the truck.
The condition of the product upon delivery and the timeliness of this delivery can largely shape the service experience for Home Depot’s Customers.
It is essential that the Order Picker is able to operate lift equipment and obtain necessary internal licensing required by The Home Depot.
Associates in this role must gain computer skills to identify product, article and vendor information, familiarity with the products, product location and store layout to provide the most efficient and highest quality service to our Customers.
As part of the Service Desk team, Order Picker associates need to become comfortable handling basic customer order-related transactions, such as POS sales and returns, answering or making customer phone calls and the ability to read a COM order or notes in the system.
Also, maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy and following Home Depot’s safety policies and procedures are critical to performing the duties of the Order Picker Associate.
