Exec Sous Chef
We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Executive Sous Chef who will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the overall management and profitability of the culinary operation while establishing a safe and hospitable atmosphere.
The Executive Sous Chef will also be responsible for assisting in developing performance objectives and delivering performance evaluation.
This position is required to workday shifts, evening shifts, weekends, and holidays. The salary for this position is based on experience.
The Executive Sous Chef is responsible and accountable for planning, co-ordinating and providing leadership to the kitchen, staff café and stewarding team.
Duties Include (but are not limited to) :
Ensuring high professional standards and quality, with the goal of the exceeding guest expectations, the Exec Sous Chef oversees all aspects of a la carte and banquet food preparation during their shift.
Assisting the Executive Chef in all aspects of the kitchen production.
Providing on-going leadership, and guidance to motivate kitchen and stewarding staff to ensure a positive work environment with the highest level of customer satisfaction and the goal of converting as much of our current business into future bookings.
Ensuring their actions are in compliance with Banff Park Lodges Employee Handbook and their direction to employees adheres to the safety and wellness standards set by Banff Park Lodge.
Oversee and supervise all banquet operations and special functions.
Provide leadership and support to the Sous Chefs.
Working closely with the Executive Chef and F&B Manager to maintain successful Food and Beverage operations.
Ideal candidate :
A Red Seal Journeyman Cook’s Certificate or equivalent is a must.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in culinary management.
A minimum of 6 years à la Carte and Convention cooking experience in high volume hotels, resorts or restaurant is required.
Maintaining a professional appearance according to hotel standards at all times.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on occasion and up to 30 pounds regularly.
Schedule flexibility and over time as required.
Working knowledge of MS Office.
