PositionSummary

Responsible for all product stages from research anddevelopment to design. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in ahigh-tech, fast paced, product-development company.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Evaluates mechanical, optic mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs;
  • applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.

  • Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility
  • Designs and build complex test fixtures for sensor product process and test
  • Generates engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, assembly instructions, etc.
  • Conducts design reviews and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Communicates with component suppliers and internal supply chain to source mechanical components
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government and industry regulations.
  • Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Qualifications and Skills Required :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of related experience in design and product development
  • Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of BC.
  • Experience with one or more of the following : thermal / mechanical stress modeling, design of precision mechanical and positioning systems, optoelectronic sensors development
  • High degree of proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Excellent technical, analytical, problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent track record of delivering high quality work under tight time constraint
