Description Robert Half Finance is actively searching for an earnest, resourceful Controller to join the innovative team at an prominent services company.
In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff.

The full-time Controller position is situated in the Woodstock, Ontario area.
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G / L analysis
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements - Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
BA / BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Detailed and have the ability work independently
CPA or MBA preferred
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Foundational knowledge in logistics distribution
Knowledge of budget forecasting
Deep understanding of financial reporting
