We have a permanent opportunity for a reliable, skilled Fabrication Welder with at least 5 years of professional (i.e., paid) experience in :
all position construction welding that passes inspections according to established standards (e.g., quality, structural soundness);
leading crews, following procedures, and inspecting welds;
mobilizing, inspecting, maintaining, and demobilizing work areas, equipment, tools, and required welding equipment.

Experienced working inside and outside of vessels and barges through inclement weather
Experienced traversing gangways, working at varying heights, negotiating uneven heights between dock and vessel, and negotiating uneven surfaces
Experienced maneuvering around obstructions with materials and equipment, including bending and stooping while manipulating various sizes and weights
Experienced working in awkward positions for extended periods of time
An eye for detail with superior hand eye coordination
Strong abilities to take ownership, learn, proactively plan their work and time, and stick to an established schedule
Reliability, conscientiousness, and follow through
This full-time position will require working 45 hours per week plus additional overtime when required to complete related projects (e.
g., extended shifts, Saturdays, Sundays, afternoons).
Candidates meeting requirements may receive preference if they have four or more of the following :
3 years of verifiable experience leading crews, following procedures, and inspecting welds;
3 years of experience in all position fabrication construction welding (FCAW or SMAW), which passes inspections according to established standards (e.
g., quality, structural soundness);
3 years of experience mobilizing, inspecting, maintaining, and demobilizing work areas, equipment, tools, and required welding equipment;
proof of current C.W.B. tickets for overhead and vertical;
experience welding and fitting stainless steel;
experience welding and fitting aluminum;
proof of valid / current Ministry of Labour approved Working at Heights Training;
Experience / training working in confined spaces;
Experience / training using manlifts, zoom booms, etc;
Experience welding, gouging, and / or fitting pressure vessels;
Experience welding, gouging, and / or fitting ballast tanks.
