This is a Regular Part-Time Role (36 Hours per week with benefits, vacation, etc.) at the Centre for Child Development to start ASAP.

The role is regular part-time status until the end of 2021 and if not renewed, will be a casual Support ECE role after that with the Centre.

This is a unionized position within the Health Services & Support Community Subsector Association HSA

Classification Grid : Grid 20 Wage Rate : $23.29 to $25.45 (Step 1- 4)

Reports to : Vice President, Community Health & Childcare Partnerships

Note : Schedule is Monday through Friday (7am start daily) onsite at the Centre with possibility of working at community licensed childcare facilities.

Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.

Job Summary : This position is to provide scheduling support to the Centre’s childcare and supported child development departments.

The person will be responsible for administering the day to day departmental scheduling needs such as daily staff scheduling changes, create staff scheduling calendars, maintain files for support teachers, laminate, photocopy, fill in as part of daycare ratio staff at the Centre childcare program and other office related tasks as required.

Additionally the person will be provide support to children in the Supported Child Development Program at The Centre for Child Development.

You will work directly with children who have additional / special needs in licensed childcare facilities, such as preschool, day care and school age care.

The Support ECE works in partnership with parents, co-workers, Early Childhood Educators, Supported Child Development Consultants, and other professionals in helping each child reach his / her maximum potential.

Additionally, the person

Education Training and Experience :

  • High School Diploma (minimum)
  • One year recent related experience working in early childhood education setting and working directly with children
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in the use of software programs including Word and Excel
  • Valid First Aid Certificate as per childcare licensing requirements.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.
  • Criminal Record Review acceptable to the Centre.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
