Who you areThe Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - REIT will be a key contributor to the REIT FP&A and leadership teams to develop detailed reporting, meaningful analysis, support preparation of the REIT annual plan, ongoing forecasts, outlook and various scenario analyses.What you'll do
Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting package for the REIT CEO, CFO, and leadership team
Provide variance analysis and highlight any material risk or opportunity including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Capital Expenditures
Support the preparation of annual budget, monthly and quarterly forecasts, outlook, and scenario analysis
Build / enhance appropriate financial models to assist with analysis and reporting with a focus on G&A, Plan and Forecast
Prepare detailed REIT portfolio analysis for quarterly and annual disclosures
Support the Property Management Agreement and Services Agreement process with detailed supporting schedules
Provide decision support analysis to identify issues, opportunities, and emerging trends for the business
Ensure that meaningful analysis and reports are prepared to support various levels of senior management reviews and presentations
Ongoing process improvements / enhancements to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reconciliation to source reporting systems
Document and revise processes / templates as necessary.
Actively participate in meetings and effectively produce and communicate analysis, recommendations, risks, and opportunities
Assist in the preparation of ad hoc analysis and reporting
Special projects and various duties as assignedWhat you bring
University degree in Finance, Analytics, Accounting, or business-related discipline
Professional Accounting designation (CPA) or working towards is considered an asset
3 to 4 years of work experience in financial analytical role, preferably in a REIT or Real Estate environment
Superior interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to deal with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner
Strong business acumen and analytical skills
Able to recognize when financial plans are in jeopardy of being met and can make relevant suggestions for improvement
Results oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail and retaining focus on the big picture
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
Ability to work equally well in a team environment while being a self-starter
