Based in Toronto, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly. Currently we are looking for an Demand Planner.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to Supply Chain Director, this position will support our exponential sales growth by balancing supply and demand to ensure availability of the right product at the right time, with heavy emphasis on a sense of urgency, internal and external collaboration and teamwork.

This position is responsible for demand forecasting focusing on a long-term horizon utilizing customer demand trends, consumption data, and commercial input and insight from Sales & Marketing teams, maintaining a high level of forecast accuracy, and integrated inventory management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage all Demand Planning activities.
  • Lead and manage S&OP cycle with cross functional team consisting of Marketing, Sales and Finance to align to an unbiased forecast number.
  • Quantify risks & opportunities by analyzing historical performance against sales and inventory levels, and provide appropriate recommendations to support overall company financial objectives by achieving service rate and inventory level targets.
  • Provide regular and consistent forecast accuracy and service level KPI's to the Business Development Team and to senior management.
  • Skilled at developing systems and processes, and implementing structure to improve consistency within demand planning and inventory department.
  • Gather market intelligence from Business Development Team in terms of POS data, inventory policy, stock-in-trade, and anticipated buying behavior so as to understand, quantify, and fulfill customer / market specific requirements.
  • Analyze demand trends in conjunction with upcoming marketing efforts and determine effects on the demand forecast.
  • Monitor, track and report on new product forecasts.
  • Monitor and evaluate promotional impact data and make informed decisions on forecasts as a result.
  • Communicate the forecast and critical forecast changes to those affected by the change within Marketing, Business Development, Supply Planning and Operations.
  • Optimize inventory movement by developing strategies to improve network flow, turn, and lower costs as well as remove aged / non-productive inventory.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and present them to senior management with recommendations and alternatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of demand planners and inventory analyst to encourage top talent performance and high levels of engagement.
  • Willing to sit alongside team members and show the way while setting clear expectations and accountability.

  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with cross functional stakeholders to align on common goal.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Forecasting, S&OP, and MRP
  • Experience with Forecast & Replenishment Applications
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Advanced math, analytical, and statistical skills
  • Working knowledge of world class supply chain practices, strong analytical capabilities, and business savvy.
  • Ability to both think strategically and execute tactically, a persistent attention to detail, and very comfortable with numbers.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Effective leadership skills and supervisory experience.
  • Ability to lead a team with a strong focus on team member growth and development that reinforces the company culture and long-term growth.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, reflecting an appropriate sense of urgency to all levels of management and with a collaborative management style.
  • Team player with professional attitude.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to Senior Management.
