The Senior Manager RRP Project Management will be responsible for the overall planning, execution and delivery of strategic and regulatory projects for Recovery and Resolution Planning, in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • The incumbent will apply sound project / program management approaches for successful delivery of projects including : 1) the update and development of the Recovery Plan;
  • 2) the update and development of the Resolution Plan; 3) the development and execution of associated Testing Programs; 4) the preparation of the Crisis Management Group presentation;
  • and 5) the provision of Advice & Counsel for the Recovery and Resolution Planning activities of international subsidiaries.

    The incumbent will be responsible for all relevant project plans as well as for the preparation and delivery of packages for the Crisis Management Executive Steering Committee, the Board, and senior execurive, as may be required.

    The Senior Management, RRP Project Management will work closely with the Director Recovery Planning, the Director, Resolution Planning and the Director RRPTesting to ensure that the Bank satisfactorily meets swiftly evolving and highly demanding regulatory complexities and expectations in both areas of recovery and resolution planning.

    Key Accountabilities :

  • Plans, manages and reports on all recovery and resolution planning related projects (see Purpose of Job above) often involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provides project delivery guidance / support to the Head / VP RRP.

  • Liaises with cross-functional teams of stakeholders and external vendors (where applicable) to facilitate all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Uses negotiation and influencing skills to build consensus amongst diverse stakeholder groups to ensure a common approach towards timely completion of project work.

  • Develops project approach, work break-down structure (WBS) and detailed project plan for all projects and related work-
  • streams. Involves key subject matter experts to develop effort estimates, timelines, resource requirements and cost estimates.

    Defines roles and accountabilities to execute the project in a practical manner.

  • Follows established enterprise project management procedures, and manages scope to deliver the expected project outcomes within agreed-
  • upon time, cost, and quality parameters. Effectively manages project change, in order to respond to changing needs.

  • Monitors and reports on project milestones, financial delivery and resource availability, creating and delivering project management reporting packages and dashboards as needed and to the level of granularity required.
  • Manages resolution of issues and risks effectively and ensures timely escalation of the issues and risks.

  • Assists with the development of project documentation including project charter, milestones, measures of success and transition plans.
  • Ensures proper project closure including documentation of lessons learned and transition into sustainment.

  • Provides project delivery guidance / support to the assigned team leads on individual projects (e.g. review and inputs into key business or technology deliverables etc.
  • and to work-stream leaders on more complex projects.

  • Assists in the development and update of the Rcovery Plan, the Resolution Plan, and Testing Programs as may be required.
  • Creates materials for senior executive such as the presentation decks for the Crisis Management Executive Steering Committee, Board, and other senior executive briefings as required.
  • Creates decks for project kick-off meetings, regular stakeholder meetings, as well as regular project management meetings with the Head / VP RRP and / or the VP, Operational Risk, as required.

    Functional Competencies :

    The incumbent must have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage project risks and issues, and appropriate use of escalation mechanisms.

    The incumbent should also have hands-on experience in project / portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budget preparation.

    The incumbent must be able to work

  • accurately, efficiently, and effectively, with high attention to detail; and
  • alone with minimal guidance and / or in a team setting
  • with regulators and peer industry contacts on matters of industry-wide scope
  • The ability to manage change, think creatively / strategically, understand the Bank from a holistic perspective, and provide guidance to internal clients is vital.

    The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a high degree of tact and diplomacy, and a good understanding of executive priorities.

    Excellent relationship building and project management skills are essential.

    Experience / Education :

    The incumbent has a breadth of project management experience, usually through 5 or more years in the banking industry, and has demonstrated experience supporting delivery of medium to large size projects.

    Expert level knowledge of office productivity applications such as MS Project, MS Office etc are required, along with technical credentials (PMP / PMI).
