The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.

The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems.

The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.

Information on Division / Hiring Department / Career Opportunity :

The IT Delivery : Corporate Systems team is a fast-paced and dynamic team within the Information Technology organization.

The team’s mandate is to work with Bell corporate stakeholders and technology partners to deliver solutions that leverage Bell’s significant investment in its strategic IT platforms in the areas of Lease Accounting, Human Resources(HR) / Human Capital Management(HCM), Procurement, and SAP Infrastructure and Architecture.

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and disciplined individual to join our team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Solution / Enterprise Architects that focus primarily on solutions leveraging the SAP ERP (ECC), SAP BW / HANA, Business Objects BI, and a soon to be new lease accounting system.

This position reports to the IT Delivery Director.

Job duties / accountabilities :

The Senior Project Manager is within the Information Technology (IT) project delivery team, and will have an immediate focus on IFRS 16 (International Financial Reporting Standards) : Lease Accounting IT delivery.

The candidate will play a key role in planning and leading the delivery the IFRS 16 program and key projects in partnership with other IT and corporate systems stakeholders.

Job Duties / Accountabilities :

The Senior Project Manager will assume responsibility for the successful delivery of projects or major deliverables. Core activities include the following :

  • Project and capital management governance and due diligence lead all key steps and reviews with various governance stakeholders for formal approval through the various gating councils
  • Delivery lifecycle manage the delivery lifecycle for projects which introduce new functionality and capabilities to the organization
  • Stakeholder management effectively partner and communicate with project stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and in both business and IT functions
  • Financial management forecasting, budget tracking, analysis, and communication
  • Risk management identification, mitigation, and communication of all project risks
  • Status and communication management prepare and present project status at the working team and director levels
  • Change management ensure efficient and timely management of necessary changes
  • Process management ensure delivery best practices, and overall project health
  • Essential Skills and Competencies :

  • Minimum 5 years of IT Project Management experience
  • Proven ability to manage Finance IT projects or major deliverables, lasting 6 to 18 months in duration
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodology and best practices (e.g. PMI, Agile, and Value SAP / ASAP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the preparation and presentation of senior management reporting packages and project business cases
  • Strong positive, can-do attitude
  • Self-motivated with a strong tolerance to ambiguity and change.
  • Critical Qualifications / Competencies :

  • Formal project management training and PMI PMP certification is desirable but not mandatory
  • Knowledge and experience in SAP implementations (ERP and BI) and technology
  • Knowledge of lease and asset Accounting and Financial reporting
  • University degree or equivalent post secondary education
  • Proficiency using Project Management Tools including MS Office products
  • Familiarity with offshore IT delivery models and working with an outsourcer and multiple delivery partners
  • Bilingual (French / English) would be an asset.
  • Working Conditions :

  • This is full-time Bell office on-site position
  • Available to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet project deadlines
