International Shipping Coordinator

As International Shipping Coordinator, your main duty is to take responsibility for smooth international outbound movement of finished goods and raw materials from the Vancouver Distribution Centre and to ensure that the corresponding shipment information flows correctly internally and externally.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities :

  • You maintain shipment tracking reports and prepare monthly outbound freight cost spending reports including basic freight, fuel surcharges, and other detail charges
  • You coordinate the outbound shipping of finished goods internationally
  • You partner with transportation service providers and forwarders to arrange and track shipments
  • You ensure customer’s shipping rules, procedures, and guidelines are followed
  • You ensure timely resolution of freight requests and troubleshooting
  • You communicate across multiple departments on shipments and warranty items to facilitate speedy resolution on outbound shipping matters
  • You process freight invoices and ensure that invoices are coded correctly and in a timely manner
  • You develop and improve a systematic method to track air, ocean, land, and parcel service shipments until delivery
  • You file claims with carriers and assist in creating resolutions for service failures and losses
  • You consoles documentation for international, Europe, Norway, and Special shipments
  • You create B13 for all shipments over $2000 CAD using CAED TT2
  • You track inventory for non-merchandise items and trigger the request to replenish as needed
  • You facilitate effective and productive communications within the team to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • You perform other duties as assigned
  • Additional experience, education and / or skills required :

  • You have 2+ years of experience in a logistics or distribution environment
  • You have experience working with NAFTA, INCOTERMS, COO, HS Codes, B13, and other exports documentation
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You are knowledgeable in 5S lean operation, data analysis, statistical reporting, KPI metrics, and other performance measurements
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • You have the ability to work well independently and efficiently without direct supervision and to work effectively as a team
  • Assets :

  • You have post-secondary education in operations, logistics, customs compliance, or finance
  • You are knowledgeable in MRP / WMS systems in a medium to fast-paced high volume environment
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
