Nordic Insurance contributes to Intact Insurance’s profits through fees collected via the Facility Association.
We’re looking for a Personal Lines Underwriter to join our growing team!
As a Personal Lines Underwriter , your work will have a big impact on our Facility Insurance department. People will count on you to analyze, select and underwrite risks, in order to contribute to a profitable portfolio of business.
With this purpose in mind, you will :
Authorize / process the acceptance of new business, renewals, cancellations and endorsements in accordance with the Service Level Agreements of the facility association
Rate Facility risks using prescribed rates and premiums and complete transactions to support production standards
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers providing timely and effective communication
Answer inquiries and makes recommendations to brokers through verbal and written correspondence within service level standards
Ensure policies are underwritten and processed in accordance with established company guidelines, applicable laws and regulations, and subject to authorized limits
Ensure quality of work is at an acceptable level based on both Nordic and Facility Association standards and complete an acceptable amount of transactions in both TIGER and policy system.
Provide technical advice and recommendations to other team members and brokers as needed
The requirements :
Minimum of 1 year Personal Lines underwriting experience or extensive Personal Lines underwriting assistant experience
Facility underwriting experience (preferred)
Completion or working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
Capable of developing & maintaining excellent relationships with brokers
Strong analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritise work
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
University Degree or College Diploma in a related program preferred or equivalent years of relevant work experience
