Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (SGCIB) is the third largest investment bank in the European Economic Area and is present in more than 75 countries around the world.

The head office of SGCIB's Canadian subsidiary is located in Montreal and has approximately 100 employees. SGCIB has positioned itself as a front-

line player in the trading of interest rate and currency derivatives on the Canadian market.

The SG Montreal Centre de Solutions Inc. group "("SG MSC") has more than 230 employees and provides IT services and solutions for operations based in New York, Paris and Asia, among others.

In this respect, SG MSC is responsible for the management of the IT infrastructure as well as the development, integration, maintenance and evolution of a wide range of enterprise applications.


As part of its daily activities, the Finance, Risk & Market team wishes to develop various internal tools for automating and improving processes.

With the support of the SG MSC teams, the trainee will be in charge of :

  • Collecting needs and specifying the functionalities to be implemented.
  • Developing the necessary tools to automate manual processes.
  • Implementing, testing and delivering functionalities according to our standards.
  • Monitoring reports will also have to be designed and implemented, allowing automated status to be provided. The trainee will also be able to develop existing tools.

    The SG MSC teams will be committed to supporting the trainee in his training, providing him with the tools and advice necessary to successfully complete his internship.

    The intern will be integrated into a group of several trainees, encouraging exchange and teamwork. Hackathons are also regularly organized internally in order to create a real group dynamic.


    This internship requires analytical skills and the desire to work as a team to directly support all business lines and work closely with development and production support teams.

    Experience in web development is also an asset.

    Technical experience :

  • Java, AngularJS, HTML languages
  • Knowledge of APIs
  • Databases : Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL
  • Unix & Windows Servers

  • Strong intellectual curiosity : interest in the banking sector, interest in technology, problem solving skills, vision on strategic issues

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering

    Bilingual : French and English Permanent residence or Canadian citizenship.
