Who- the Company :

Our client is a very well-established company headquartered in Vancouver.

What- the Opportunity :

The new Payroll Supervisor willreport directly into the Payroll Manager and be responsible for leading the administration of the Company’s payroll department, and directly manage the work of two Payroll Administrators.

The Payroll Manager is known for her transparency, sharing of ideas’, collaborative leadership style, and has three pillars of strengths she looks for in a candidate, people , payroll , technology .

In addition to overseeing the processing of biweekly semimonthly union and non-union payroll, you will ensure that proper payroll process controls and legislative requirements and compliance are in place, and be responsible for overseeing the reconciliation of applicable deductions, and collaborating with the payroll team with annual reporting requirements.

Who- the Candidate :

We are looking for a dynamic and proven Payroll Supervisor with 5 years’ progressive experience, someone who is not afraid to jump in and be hands on, but who also has good foresight, is strategic, and can see the big picture .

A strong leader with excellent communication skills, the Payroll Supervisor will be a key driver in rolling out some exciting initiatives.

It is an exciting time to bring your best practices forward! Candidates must be adaptive and energetic, tech savvy, and embrace challenges in a positive way.

Experience in a large multi provincial company and in unionized environments. Broad knowledge of Tax legislation, ROE legislation, Worker Compensation guidelines.

Candidates must be systems savvy and able to learn new systems and technology quickly. Certified Payroll Manager certification (PMP), and knowledge of Dayforce highly preferred.

Where :

It will be a combination of remote / virtual work and in-office upwards of 2 days / week. Our client is taking the utmost precautions, and when in the office, the Payroll Supervisor will be stationed in a secure corner.

Once it is safe to do so, this role will be based full-time in Vancouver- very transit accessible.
