Job Description

SHIP is a mental health agency providing housing and services for specialized populations. SHIP’s mental health services assist clients with setting and working towards recovery goals, and living independently in the community.

We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill the following position :

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager :

Responsibilities :

  • Manages the full cycle recruitment process
  • Establishes and monitors files for positions to advertise
  • Tracks and maintains organization wide attendance
  • Drafts letters for offer of employment, employment verification letters etc.
  • Responsible for the onboarding of new employees
  • Develop and implement HR Metrics Report and maintain HR Scorecards.
  • Compiles data, statistics and other information and may conduct research
  • Prepares, records, inputs, edits and proofreads correspondence, invoices, presentations,reportsand other information as required
  • Prepares materials for new employee orientation sessions, staff development, education and training, student placements and other employee communications, as assigned.
  • Assists with investigations related to grievances
  • Ensures that employee files are up to date and audit ready
  • Responds to employee inquiries as needed on HR related issues
  • Maintains current knowledge on all HR issues, trends and legislation
  • Works with HR team members on special HR projects as assigned.
  • Qualifications :

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or at least three years of administrative human resources experience
  • CHRP designation or working towards would be an asset.
  • Unionized experience would be considered an asset
  • Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows / Office, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience in Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and departments.
  • Well versed in proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and composition.
  • Ability to provide professional customer service.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • This position is a full time non-bargaining unit position working 37.5 hours per week.
