Join our team in assisting to lead a culinary team as a Sous Chef at Shorelines Casino Belleville ! As part of our Belleville team, the Sous Chef is a culinary leadership role requiring hands-
on performance and instruction to our people as well as consistent excellence in the execution of menu items while adhering to budgetary targets.
This position will assist in directing our culinary operations on a daily basis under the guidance of the Chef. Supervising food preparation and team members, the Sous Chef creates a Great and Memorable Experience for our guests and colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities Include :
Exceeds guest expectations by providing outstanding customer service
Helps create an engaged work environment by choosing positivity and fun, recognizing excellent peer performance, and by caring about and supporting our colleagues every day
Manage kitchen activities and staff, ensuring that they have sufficient resources available
Ensure consistent and high quality food preparation and presentation
Develop, provide feedback and direct staff to achieve high levels of performance and customer service
Contribute to the menu and budget development
Identify business opportunities and organize or oversee the development and deliverables of these efforts
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene is maintained, refrigerators and storerooms are organized, and that all food products are correctly stored
Retain a thorough and updated knowledge of policies and procedures, regulations, products and services
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications :

Must be 19+
Kitchen experience of 5 years or an equivalent combination of education, and experience
Red Seal or equivalent certification is an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have Smart Serve, WHMIS, FOODSAFE Level 1 certification
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Able to provide exceptional customer service, multi-tasking and have an excellent attention to detail
Thorough knowledge of kitchen equipment and menu
Works with the casino management team and participates in casino initiatives
Long periods of standing and interacting
Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Able to lift, push or pull 50lbs
Since the fun never stops at Shorelines, candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overnights, based on business needs.
