The Position

If youhave an entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen and a positive and involved team attitude, this is the career opportunity for you! As the Assistant General Manager you will oversee gaming operations and activities, ensuring effective and efficient operations at Gateway Casinos Dresden.

This role provides critical leadership and ensures that a high level of customer service is delivered to guests in a consistent and professional manner.

You will enhance communication between staff members and reports all relevant activities to appropriate people and departments and provide critical support to the General Manager in developing and executing strategic, operational and policy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing the day to day operations and ensures that Shift Supervision is visible on the gaming floor
  • Assist and prepare statistical reports and operations analysis for meetings, forecasts and budgeting processes
  • Manage cost elements within the departments, particularly labour efficiency and effective use of resources
  • Participate in the recruitment, training and development functions within the departments
  • Provide operational leadership and decision making on technical and incident related issues
  • Recommend changes to systems, controls, processes, policies and procedures to improve casino operations
  • Assist and implement strategic initiatives
  • Supervise and manage team performance
  • Foster a safe and efficient work environment, while maintaining an open-door policy
  • Oversee human resources activities such as training, coaching, performance feedback, safety and recruitment
  • Provide direct management and development of Department Managers and Supervisors
  • Maintain a thorough and updated knowledge of company policies and procedures, provincial and local regulations for casino operations
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth; assist with business proposals and implement approved actions
  • What You’ll Require

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting or Economics or suitable equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized management development program
  • Minimum of three years progressively responsible management experience
  • Specialized knowledge of casino operations with 3 -5 years of gaming experience
  • Proven experience with scheduling and budgeting
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and managerial skills
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills
  • Proficient with word processing, spread sheets, email, Internet navigation and presentation software
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Category 1 gaming license
