Reman Coordinator

Reporting to the Administration Supervisor, Reman, the Reman Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordinating of activities for the Remanufacturing department, ensuring efficient and economical operations.

Key Contact for customer quotes and status of work order completions. Responsible for planning the detailed work steps / instructions for work to be performed, setting up of work scope for execution, processing of shop PO’s, ordering required parts on the WO, addressing all shop warranty issues and ensuring accurate maintenance of records and files.

Shop Planning / Scheduling

  • Determines job scope and limiting conditions consultation with Reman department supervision.
  • Support expeditor in bottle necks in the workflow process and proposes solutions.
  • Coordinates sublet WIP in conjunction with the expeditor and applicable vendor in order to establish job priorities and required completion dates.
  • Knows the status of current jobs and ensures follow-though where required.
  • Service Coordination

  • Maintains total job coordination responsibility.
  • Determines job scope and limiting conditions in consultation with the Administration Supervisor, Reman.
  • Prepares accurate, and timely estimates and quotations to customers using simplified maintenance standards, historical standards and experience-based approximations.
  • Manages all sublets (3rd party repair work) per work order requirements.
  • Pre-closes all work orders.
  • Addresses all shop warranty issues; maintains accurate files and records (i.e. service reports, pictures, etc.).
  • Ensures appropriate paperwork requirements are met in a timely fashion.
  • Accurately reports the work performed and the material used. Reviews documentation associated with the jobs undertaken, completes forms and maintenance records.
  • Analyzes work for methods and craft requirements, issuing sub-orders and maintaining total job coordination responsibility.
  • Parts Coordination

  • Establishes and maintains parts within SMS work orders during component repair processing.
  • Liaises with expeditors and inventory analysts to monitor backordered parts on jobs.
  • Processes component Core Returns.
  • Time Entry

  • This position will be responsible for entering time for hourly employees into eXtend.
  • ISO Responsibilities

  • Work with Senior Coordinator, Reman to update ISO documentation by referencing historical job scopes, and technical documentation.
  • Work with Shop Supervision to develop process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Contributes to the Reman team by accomplishing other related results and duties as required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Position requires considerable experience in a shop environment, and the necessary skills to build strong customer relationships and meet customer’s needs.
  • Position requires excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  • Requires minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience with shop work.
  • Must possess highly developed organizational, communication (verbal and written), problem solving skills.
  • Highly developed Customer Relationship Management skills (internal and external) is essential.
  • Experience operating successfully within a Quality Management System environment such as ISO 9001 would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with modern Lean Production Methodology would be an asset.
  • Position requires proficiency in the use of the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Access, and Word). A Solid knowledge of Maintenance Planning and Work Order Management software would be an asset.
