The Senior Director, Psychiatry Business Unit, leads the psychiatry marketing and sales business teams in its operational and strategic activities.
The incumbent reports directly to the Lundbeck Canada Vice President and General Manager and is a member of the Canadian Leadership Team, demonstrating at all times commitment to Lundbeck 5 Beliefs.
He / she will oversee the development and implementation of the strategies which will successfully drive further growth of the existing brands, optimise their life-cycle opportunities, and prepare for launch of new treatments.
Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams, the incumbent evaluates the requirements to a successful market penetration strategy, formulates and implements sales strategies and trickles down objectives in line with global objectives and goals, to generating sales, rapid growth and optimizing profitability.
The incumbent will be a strong and positive leader for the cross-functional team will bring to life the purpose and beliefs of Lundbeck amongst their teams.
Team Management Accountabilities
Leading develop and manage performance of 5 direct reports and a total number of 97 employees.
Lead the portfolio to deliver excellence in sales and marketing strategic goals and impact goals relevant to the Business Unit.
Ensure adequate hiring, integration, training and development, contributing to high retention and engagement levels.
Develop, with the collaboration of the HR Business Partners, local organization by identifying and growing diverse talent to achieve the vision.
Create and develop team and a strong succession plan.
Nurture a culture of high performance and compliance, with a strong alignment on results and critical behaviors through the performance management process and act as role model in the visible promulgation of these values and expectations;
Ensure executional excellence and monitor employees’ performance impact.
Provide department leadership, coaching and direction, ensuring the team receive adequate training to perform their tasks and develop and maintain their capabilities and expertise.
Psychiatry Business Unit Commercial Accountabilities
Develop a comprehensive marketing & sales business plan which incorporates customer requirements, definition of the competitive arena and establishing the objectives, strategies and actions required to achieve the business unit goals.
Effective management of alliance business and relationship to drive strong results and a positive work environment.
Deliver and manage promotional and functional budgets, as well as marketing and sales plans; lead the operational delivery of business goals.
Remain up-to-date on market trends and changes, challenge existing structures and internal processes and propose adequate changes to the existing structure and ensure the regions remain competitive, compliant and in line with business strategy and objectives.
Monitor business performance and external environment in terms of marketing strategies efficiency, sales performance resource allocation expenditure, market share and initiate corrective action as necessary to achieve the business goals.
Liaise with medical affairs and other cross functional colleagues in regulatory, business operations and market access to ensure open communication to reach business unit goal.
Canadian Leadership Team
Participate actively in the leadership team and the championing of agreed departmental projects in psychiatry.
Foster open communications and exchange through interdepartmental monthly communications.
As a member of the leadership Team, demonstrate commitment to the establishment, implementation, assessment and continual improvement of the management practices and processes.
Contribute to the strategic long-term planning of the organization and ensure proper planning and follow up on capacity and activity budget for the business unit.
Position Qualifications :
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical Industry with proven high performance
Significant experience in leadership roles (5+ years), maintaining and developing high performance teams
Excellent communication skills
Courageous and ambitious proactive style of leadership
Outstanding marketing skills demonstrated through a range of experiences across the product life cycle.
First class sales management skills across a range of therapy areas with specific knowledge of the secondary care sector
Experience within sales / marketing of psychiatric products preferred
Experience working with alliances preferred
Bilingual - spoken and written (French / English)
