Position Summary

With over 130 years of experience, Homewood Health Centre is one of Canada's largest and leading facilities for medically focused, physician-

led treatment of mental health and addiction disorders.

We are hiring a temporary full-time Nutrition Aide to join our Nutrition Services department for the Homewood Health Centre in Guelph and are looking for you.

Hours of work : temporary full-time, 35 hours per week, until April 25th 2020.

This is a UFCW position. Internal applications for positions within a bargaining unit must be received within 7 days of this position being posted to have seniority considered as a factor in selection.

What you'll be doing

Under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor, the Nutrition Aide duties include patient meal services, tray-line service, dish washing, cleaning, cash register operation and basic food preparation.

  • Assembles snacks such as : trays, meat items, and vegetables
  • Portions meals such as desserts, sandwiches, and entrees
  • Prepares food and drinks such as : coffee, grilled items, soups, sandwiches, and salads
  • Stocks items in places such as cupboards, juice machines, and refrigerators
  • Scraps dishes, racks, operates dishwasher, and washes pots
  • Cleans equipment and work environment
  • Operates cash register
  • What we're looking for

  • Food Handler Certificate
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Evidence of good work and attendance record
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Manual dexterity
