Belmont House welcomes volunteers who OWN dogs or cats, who have ALL vaccinations up to date (proof required), AND who are a part of the Therapy Dog Program St.
John's Ambulance, or have been evaluated by Therapeutic Paws of Canada. Our residents and tenants love to interact with animals, and a dog or cat can bring a ray of sunshine to older adults who are no longer able to keep pets of their own.
As a Pet Visitor, you would bring your pet into Belmont House and under the direction and supervision of Recreation Staff, you would visit residents and tenants who have made special requests to interact with animals.
Training : The Recreation Staff will work directly with you and inform you which residents and tenants are in need of pet visits.
They will be your direct supervisors. Skills and Experience : Your pet must have all vaccinations up to date (hard copies required).
Your pet must be a part of the Therapy Dog Program at St. John's Ambulance or have been evaluated by Therapeutic Paws of Canada.
