6 Months + Mandate

French strongly preferred, but not required.

Need resource that is Local to Sherbrooke, Quebec OR Valcourt, Quebec - will need to go to office 2x a week and be in the field (we can look at resources in surrounding areas : Sherbrooke, Valcourt, Granby, Bromont, Drummondville, St- Hyacinthe, Windsor)

The person must go on site (either Sherbrooke or Valcourt) twice a week / minimum, because they will have to see the vehicles, test and learn the components of the vehicle

The client currently has a resource in this role but that resource does not have knowledge of object oriented programming and they needs that expertise.

Hence, this position is Open.

Network tool "trouble shooting " diagnostic consultant

Training :

  • Electronic / computer / electromagnetic technician (a little less)
  • Mandatory technical competence

  • Ability to analyze log books :
  • Knowledge of the performance of IT components
  • Hard disk, CPU, RAM etc.
  • Impact of current and installed software
  • Ability to analyze and interpret XML code
  • Must be able to compare network information with ECM & Cluster source code
  • Ability to diagnose breakdowns of computer components
  • Computer and VCI
  • The person has a diagnostic logic to confirm that it is not a component issue
  • Able to understand and analyze CAN traces :
  • Must be able to use a sniffer and interpret what information BUDS does not push on the CAN
  • Must be able to set up a CAN acquisition module
  • Technical skill not compulsory, but is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret JAVA code sequences
  • Client is looking for a Network Technician candidate to help them with their Vehicle Diagnostic System process. Sometimes it is the tools that are faulty and other times it is the parts of the vehicle that are faulty.

    The candidate will work with another person to analyze, document and direct the problem to the right team in order to correct the bug (s).

    The person already in place has no programming knowledge and this is a new role

    Tasks :

  • Analysis of the problem, search for the causes of breakdowns and manage the use of the vehicle network;
  • Diagnose the problem, the nature and source of the problem (communication or interpretation problem);
  • Perform documentation;
  • Dispatch the problem to the teams concerned;
  • Perform tests on vehicles;
  • Required :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a vehicle network technician;
  • Experience with XML for analysis and interpretation;
  • Knowledge of a programming language (eg : Java, .NET, object oriented);
  • Work experience in the automotive world (asset);
  • Experience working with UDS protocols (asset);
  • Experience with CAN (vehicle communication system) and OBD2 (standard) - Asset;
