The Project Cargo Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and growth of the Product within the geographic area of responsibility.
For this Mississauga based position, the geographic area of responsibility includes Ontario & Manitoba.
Job Description : Business Development
Support the education of Sales and Product Management regarding Project Cargo Transport within the Region
Support the Sales and Marketing strategy within the RegionAttend sales calls independently and with existing EI Sales staffAttend sales meetings within the Region
Business Development with Project Cargo Accounts that are based within the Region
Business Development of Accounts that are based within the Region (Accounts that ship over-dimensional, project cargoes) in conjunction with other vertical business unit
Attend Industry Conferences when it makes sense for Business Development purposes.
Prepare quotes / proposals and method statements
Management and training of handling specialized cargo shipments
Planning and execution of shipments managed within the team
Ensure compliance with all internal procedures as well as all government regulations.
Develop subcontractors list for qualified carriers throughout the assigned region. Then work with appropriate Service Provider regional manager to add them to our Service Pprogram.
Onsite support in supervision of loading, packing, and coordination of project moves.
Complete Expeditors required training in addition to any project cargo-specific training through internal deskside training sessions and external industry specific training to expand your knowledge of the project market.
Fully understand systems’ capabilities, limitations and billing procedures in order to handle / or execute project shipments.
Skills and knowledge requirements :
3-5 years’ experience in Logistics industry (preferred in heavy haul or project freight forwarding industry)
Knowledge in Export and Import regulations
Strong project cargo logistics management skills
Confident communication skills, including oral and written skills
Possess a strong sense of customer service and adaptability
Ability to handle daily tasks and projects independently
Attention to detail
Strong problem-solving skills
Successful candidate must pass the company's defined background check.
