Position Summary :

The successful candidate will be based at site in Sarnia, Ontario for Beralta Construction Ltd. as part of their construction management team.

The location for the position will be based from site at Nova Chemicals Inc. and the candidate will be required to take various safety related training courses to gain access to the site.

The main role for this position will be the management of Beralta’s data entry requirements into the overall project CCMS database while also assisting the project team in management of other areas including Document Control, Procurement, Payroll and RFI Submission.

The candidate shall possess a solid understanding of construction activities and demonstrate proficiency with an array of computer software programs including MS Office and Sharepoint.

The candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented, team player with demonstrated initiative and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the development of the CCMS as it pertains to Beralta’s I / E construction scope of work
  • Complete the daily data entry requirements into the project CCMS based on collection of daily reports from project construction supervision
  • Assist in the preparation of project RFI’s and maintain an up to date Beralta specific RFI Log
  • Assist in the management of Beralta’s project specific Document Control. This will include distribution of project documentation from the client to the site construction supervision team
  • Prepare, format and check accuracy of a variety of documents including meeting minutes, transmittals, etc. as required
  • Communicate with project personnel regularly to ensure accuracy of information
  • Data capture all information that is required by Planning Departments
  • Updating progress tracking system with field reports for foremen
  • Assist project planner in ensuring that all field reports are completed correctly and submitted on time by each foreman
  • Work side by side with Project Planner to ensure that all variations to quantities to install are highlighted
  • Handing and collecting daily allocation sheets and manpower report to and from foremen.
  • Timesheet co-ordination including comparing and verifying hours reported on daily reports from field and employee timesheets
  • Assist Project Controls in Maintaining and updating the daily / weekly / monthly reports
  • Assist Project Planner in monitoring spent and earned hours for the trades and highlight area of high inefficiency
  • Assist Project Planner in recording all issues and delays on site that might impact schedule
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum College Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Minimum 3 years relevant document control experience in an engineering or construction office environment recommended
  • Excellent computer software skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio)
  • SharePoint site experience an asset
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Above average organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Solid teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with others including Direct Field Personnel
