What is the opportunity?

We’re building an enterprise Artificial Intelligence platform to make it easy to create A.I. powered solutions across the bank.

You will be an energetic senior hire for the platform’s A.I. Growth and Innovation function, which is responsible for growing A.

I. understanding, education and adoption across RBC. You will be a highly effective, highly organized leader that will manage, drive and oversee our team’s programs and projects by leveraging your mature agile delivery management techniques and methodologies.

You will be committed to driving execution excellence to ensure rapid delivery, in line with our strategic goals and drive organizational impact at scale.

You will be a leader in your field, and work with colleagues at all levels of the organization through your ability to network, create awareness and arrange educational events run by the Growth and Innovation team.

What will you do?

  • Design and Lead the Program Management function of this team, to be the execution excellence engine.
  • Perform all standard project management functions including program office, financial planning and control, task decomposition and execution, proactive risk and issue management, project health checks, verbal and written communication to stakeholders and senior management.
  • By working closely with senior program management specialists in Technology & Operations, you ll continually optimize the program management model.

  • Lead Agile methodologies for the team, and use them as a mechanism to improve the quality of deliverables, reduce project duration and mitigate risk.
  • You will also share your agile knowledge with audiences to take them with you on our agile journey.

  • Work in partnership with RBC IT and its partners, including vendors and business partners to scope, define, analyze, estimate, budget and oversee our projects that drive growth, innovation and education on A.I.
  • Aggressively manage priorities and issues where conflicts arise; mediate and resolve project team conflicts; regularly report progress of project status, milestones, achievements and budgetary standing in both formal (e.
  • g. Executive Steering Committee) and informal settings

  • Work with vendors and suppliers to procure their services as part of our function’s offerings. Actively manage all vendor deliverables.
  • Organize RFP and POC equivalent phases of projects, if required. Guide project team in developing criteria for and participate in the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises.

  • Organize and deliver networking, awareness and education events run by the Growth and Innovation team in partnership with teams across the function and the wider RBC and the support of team members from the A.

  • Communicate effectively with development and architecture teams, execution partners, external groups we work with, A.I.
  • experts, business stakeholders (executives and product owners) and our educational partners

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must have :

  • 7-10+ years project management / program management experience, with proven track record of successfully implementing large-scale and complex iterative projects through forward looking execution strategies you’ve owned and developed
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills, with advanced communication, presentation and facilitation skills to lead teams effectively.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills blended with an effervescent, passionate, engaging and energetic, results-driven approach

  • Expert knowledge of program and project plan development & management, scheduling methodology, agile, waterfall and iterative methodologies, program and project metrics, analysis, and status reporting within a matrixed organization
  • Past track record of effective delivery of events, built on your innate organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and high quality execution goals.
  • Demonstrated success working with your teams at the Program, Project, Initiative and Tasks levels of your execution, to enable team success.
  • Nice-to-have :

  • Extensive experience in the innovative technology sector including lean practices that drive efficient output
  • Experience in the application of Artificial Intelligence technologies in financial services sector
