We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven Full-Time Permanent Janitor ( Night Shift) to join our LGC Analytical Standards team.

This position is based out of Toronto, ON and reports into the Manager, Maintenance and Facilities.

Position Summary

Under moderate supervision, to perform janitorial duties that involve cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, vacuuming rugs, washing walls and glass, removing rubbish and sanitizing.

Work may involve a variety of physical demands. Ability to perform related tasks as required.

Key Accountabilities

Maintain a High Level of Safety

Identify any potential hazards and ensure all necessary precautions are undertaken.

Correct unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring health & safety policies are followed.

Abide by health and safety guidelines prescribed by governing bodies and the TRC Environmental Health and Safety Committee.

Ensure the areas are neat and tidy, with a place for everything and everything in its place.

Daily Cleaning & Maintenance Service

Cleans, sweeps, dusts, mops, washes, vacuums, polishes, and waxes floors. Cleans windows, woodwork, furniture, and equipment.

Cleans toilet facilities and keeps rest rooms supplied with towels, soap, and other items. Collects and disposes of trash from buildings and grounds.

Performs unskilled maintenance work.

Performs outside work such as cleaning walks, window cleaning, garbage pickup.

Moves furniture and equipment.

Ability to perform physical labor such as moving furniture and equipment, lifting, climbing ladders, etc.

Ability to follow instructions concerning various chemicals.

Stock and maintain supply rooms

Perform other Duties

Perform other duties and complete additional projects as assigned, commensurate with job knowledge and experience.

Job Requirements

1-2 years experience in a cleaning environment.

Good command of english language

Basic computer literacy (email, web browser)

Experience preferred but not needed using floor cleaning equipment
