What you’ll do
As a Business Consultant, you will be accountable for accelerating the capabilities of our technical strategy team. You will accomplish your objectives by working closely with Senior Business Analysts to creatively build the BNS tools and assets that will enable BNS to operate efficiently at scale.
Bring a thorough systematic mindset to the table, taking ownership of covering key angles and driving decisions based on what we know today while mitigating data gaps
Deep understanding of business intelligence and analytics, including data engineering and managing data pipelines
Work closely with your peers to align on key definitions, bridge gaps and identify opportunities
Closely monitor operational KPIs against targets and proactively identifying risks and develop mitigation plans to address challenges with the business
Spearhead and facilitate stakeholder discussions, driving key decisions to resolution
Pivot as required by leadership to meet critical needs of the business and team
What you bring
You bring 8+ years of experience in driving data based decisions in a consultative style
You are passionate about learning and growth, some days will test your understanding of Salesforce (CRM) and ServiceNow platforms and others will challenge you to create new tools that interface with legacy business wireline operational and billing systems
You will collaborate with cross functional teams across sales, operations, IT and other BI teams to build data assets that will drive product & systems performance
You are inherently curious, understanding how things work, often thinking outside of the box and creating options to work around constraints
Skilled at quickly deriving insights with large data sets and creating visualizations, you will have at least 5 years of hands on experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases (SQL), and you will build the foundations as TELUS moves to Google Cloud Platform
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or Engineering and / or equivalent experience
Familiarity with Tableau / SQL Server databases / Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
BigQuery is an asset
Advanced experience and skills in project management methodologies, principles and practices
Familiarity with TELUS’ networks and operations support systems
Background in technology and / or consulting
