The Headlines :

In the role of Data Governance and Business Reporting Manager working in Toronto or Montreal, you will be part of the Planning, Analytics and Filed Sales Management (FSM) team lead by Nicolas Ross, Head of Commercial Planning & FSM.

The individual is the lead person for Data Governance and reporting developments for Canada. The candidate will work closely with our Canadian and US IT counterparts to facilitate the intergradation and alignment of our north America practices.

The role also ensures reporting is adequate from an end user standpoint while representing Canadian enquiries on relevant business matters.

The Responsibilities :

  • You are the point person around the use of data systems and ensure adherence to company standards :
  • Perform periodic data quality reviews on internal and external data sets.

    Timely identify issues with data and trigger actions to fix source systems to ensure effective customer experiences and analysis.

    Work closely with IT to decrease the time to resolution for technical issues

    Improve data management processes and make recommendations for data quality initiatives.

    Manage data purchases and subscription renewals

  • You are the point person for reporting needs (gatekeeper) :
  • Interact with Management / Business to gather / challenge reporting improvements

    Interact with IT to obtain back end data improvements

    Develop new dashboards in Tableau reflecting the latest business needs

    Assist Business with ad-hoc reports / data extractions

    Follow company policies for giving data access rights to employees.

  • You are a change agent :
  • Educate Management / Business on current reporting offering to ensure full utilization.

    Facilitate greater democratization of our data sets to a wider user range.

    Owner of communication with Business around any data / report’s issues

  • You love a challenge. You act with appropriate urgency to various events and trends that require a quick turnaround.
  • You are a natural seeker for better business practices.
  • Proven experience as data manager
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.), BW, Tableau in particular.
  • You have excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • BSc / BA in computer science or relevant field.
  • You respect your commitments and can obtain support from cross-function members.
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience with most, if not all, above responsibilities described.
